Production
We manufacture high-precision components through powder metallurgy technology, delivering quality-driven and cost-effective solutions in close partnership with our customers.
What is Powder Metallurgy?
Powder metallurgy is an advanced manufacturing technology in which metal powders are compacted in specially designed dies and sintered in a controlled atmosphere to produce high-precision, durable, and cost-effective components.
Its ability to support high-volume production, minimize material waste, and create complex geometries with little or no secondary machining makes powder metallurgy a preferred manufacturing method across industries such as automotive, electric motors, industrial equipment, and defense applications.
-
Ideal for the high-volume production of complex-shaped components.
-
Provides an efficient solution for applications requiring tight tolerances and large production volumes.
-
Offers excellent material utilization and a cost-effective manufacturing process.
Powder Metallurgy Production Stages

1. Tooling Design
The powder metal tooling design required for the production of the component received from the customer is carried out by our team, and the tooling is then manufactured.

2. Compaction
The manufactured tooling is installed in the press, where precise machine settings are completed. Metal powder is then compacted at high density within the tooling to form a solid green part.

3. Sintering
The green part formed during compaction is sintered at high temperature in a controlled atmosphere with special process gases, resulting in a strong and durable component.

4. Sizing
For components requiring very tight tolerances, each part is re-pressed individually in a sizing tool after sintering to achieve the final dimensions.

5. Secondary Operations
Components are finished by applying secondary operations such as oil impregnation, heat treatment, steam treatment, and surface coating.

6. Quality Control
All components undergo quality control inspections and are packaged for shipment to the customer.
CUSTOM TOOLING DESIGN
Powder metallurgy tooling is specially designed by Sinter Teknik for each component to be manufactured. The tooling is engineered to allow high-precision parts to be ejected smoothly from the die during the production process.
POWDER BLENDING AND DENSITY CONTROL
The appropriate material grade is selected according to the customer’s requirements, taking into account factors such as density, strength, fracture resistance, and hardness. Based on these requirements, the powder metal blend is prepared accordingly.
At lower densities, self-lubricating bearings and porous filter elements can be produced, while higher densities make it possible to manufacture strength-critical components such as gears, keys, and clutch parts.
SINTERING PROCESS
Components produced by the compaction process are sintered in a controlled furnace atmosphere at various temperature stages, resulting in a fully bonded solid material. When higher surface hardness is required after sintering, heat treatment can be applied to achieve increased hardness and improved wear resistance.
